Well it's that time of year for me, my dad, and my brother. We tune up our cars and make little improvements and small repairs or changes before we head out on our yearly trek to the Turkey Run in Daytona Beach. We are all going to be out of town for a couple of weekes in October so we had to start early this year.

Today, I finally wrapped up my quick change rear swap and took the ole coupe for a test drive. Everything seems to be working well but let me tell ya, that quickie whine is LOUD. I really enjoyed being back in the seat of this car as I hadn't driven it for quite a while. I think I'm good to go.

We added exterior door handles to make the car look a bit more legitimate.

Here's a rear shot showing the new quick change. We also moved the license plate out from under the car to the body. We used some of those bolts that have lights built into them in order to keep it plain and simple back there. Besides that, I got beat out on ebay on the light I really wanted.

Your coupe looks great from any angle, but it is really special from the rear with the quickie. That's not a puddle of diff. grease in the second pic, I hope! Man, when you get the big valve cover engine in there it will be perfect.

Ooooooh, that quickie looks fantastic peeking out from under there. I thought your '32 was perfect before, but it just keeps getting better and better. What ratio are you running now back there? Did you notice any difference in performance? You can put in some gas milage gears before Thanksgiving maybe.

Looks great Gastrick. Love your rear end:p The door handles are a nice touch too. Just what it needed.

Looks great !!! That quickie really perks up the looks of the back. Once you get that 392 in there, it'll be perfect.

Very Nice !!!

Wow, that Q/C looks great under the coupe.
It just keeps getting better and better. '22

Thanks fellas. It means a lot to me coming from this talented group of folks.

Don, I've already got the highway gears in now. I'm currently using a 2.94 ratio. I can flip those same gears and get a 4.86 ratio. It's slightly peppier than it was before. The rough guestimate on the ratio in my old 8 inch was somewhere in the 2.75 range.

I put some more miles on it today. Everything feels fine. I wanted to make sure that I didn't pick up any balance issues with the Buick drums that I hollowed out and used as covers on the rear and there were no driveline vibrations associated with my pinion angle. Everything seems smooth as glass, even with my bias plys.
