I got the 66 Toronado fired up yesterday. It had sat for a few weeks since I had put freeze plugs in, wouldn't crank after re-installing the starter. I figured I had the 2 small wires on the starter transposed and I did. Weird thing was the purple start wire went to the inside, not outside like I remembered. Now the carb is flooding and I think the choke-stat is bad. If the weather stays nice I'll get it running good soon. Not sure what to do with it, might try to sell it and make a profit, otherwise it will be another money pit, needs C/Vs, exhaust and lots of little crap.

Nice you got it running....

I remember doing a crap ton of CV joints on those...66 to the mid 70's.mostly due to torn boots....that a huge car....also a trip to pull that 425 turbo trans....I don't miss those days....at least much...LOL..

I'll tell what to do with it! Trade it for whatever you need to finally get that RPU on the road :D

I remember all the times I wished I had a good 425, like when I had a 66 F-85 poverty coupe project, and I start thinking hmmm...maybe if it doesn'r sell I should yank the engine and use it for something. or maybe the whole front drive into something cool.
