My 1973 240Z with Triple Sidedraft Weber carbs.
Pack rats ate the wiring and the floors were rusted through.

So, I am gutting it to become a ratty race car.
Stripped interior with simple race seats and 5 pt harnesses.
Flat black rattle can paint.

Going to try to hack out my own custom aluminum dash panel.

Next items to do are finish tearing out the old wiring and heater.
Hack out the old dash and make a frame for the new dash.
Get a Universal wire harness.
Clean inside and out, then rattle can light grey inside and FB outside.

rust

with the car being a uni-body, if there is rust in the floor pan you should tie up the two sections or make some kind of frame or supports for it, especially if your'e sticking in a sbc.

Later

Most are likely waiting in the wings to see where this goes.

If your doing it in glass, I say round over the dash - more old school, like a 40's or early 50's car.

EDIT: Just re-read your using aluminum.

Yep , we will see it when we believe it TJ :D. Seems most of these type projects run out of gas early. Hope that is not the case here. I am sure you can understand there is not a lot of enthusiam on a rat rod board for asian cars. The Chevy V8 certainly helps however! Imagine a rat project on a tuner board. Wouldn't be much positive response would there
The way to get attention on this board would be to build it straight axle gasser style :D but build what you want and share what you want. There won't be any put downs or flaming (not allowed). I for one will check in and cheer you on. Us brain fried desert types need to support each other.:D
