We had all time record temperatures here in Eastern Iowa yesterday morning. -29 degrees. About -50 windchill at times this week. We had two of our diesel pump hoses become brittle and blow apart it was so friggin cold! When it got above zero, everybody was acting like it was spring time.

For you southern guys -29 temps and -50 windchills are like swimming in ice cold water. No joke, at -60 windchills, skin freezes in 30 seconds.

For you people north of Iowa that deal with these temps every year, you guys are not right....Not right at all!

30 degree high today - it's a heat wave! Time to go work in the garage. :D

Yep, my job's outside from 6am to 3. Found out if something on me starts to freeze up, it's time to head inside or it will be frost bit before I get there!

I'm ready to move to Tennessee!

thems some nasty working conditions, when I worked in Phoenix it was often -20, but they they start the minus at 100 degrees which is normal year round average

Lived here in Ontario all my life. I've never really minded winters until the last few (must have happened when I hit 40). What I DON"T like is the part of my job that has me outside this time of year (I'm an auto glass installer). Ever try to remove a good windshield from a car in a wrecking yard in sub-zero temperatures without breaking it ? Ever do it several times a day ? Good thing I'm indoors today; the only ice I'm seeing is what's floating in my Gin and Seven.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It dipped down in the mid 70's here today in South Florida.:D I haven't always lived in Florida though. I'm originally from Ohio. I can almost remember what the cold felt like, but it's been so long now.

I remember about 20 years ago it dropped to -24 here in Konxville TN and I worked in a raidaitor shop with no heat and I was out side pulling raidaitors off of cars that were froze solid. A solid 4 core is pretty heavy. BBRRRRR, come on spring.

TOO cold..

Way too cold for me anymore...I deliver LARGE pieces of glass up here in ALL kinds of weather.Try carrying a 550 pound piece of glass thats frozen through a doorway thats 4 inches too short and have to lay that glass on its side just to deliver it.! I am serious when I say this...I HAVE HAD ENOUGH of Michigan winters.I am making this my last winter and summer here.I have already starting looking out west or maybe in the New Mexico area for work.YOU CAN HAVE SNOW...serves no purpose...:D

Yeah, but it sure looks purty, doesn't it ?

Out in my shop it is a balmy 65 degrees, with occasional showers of sparks, and loud winds coming from the grinders. A warm front, near the wood stove and a cold front near the overhead doors. I weak high pressure under the "C" clamps, and an upper level disturbance is coming from the drill press motor.

Did ya know that 40 below F and 40 below C are the same temp? A guy learns these things when it gets that cold. My opinion is that once it gets below zero Fahrenheit it's just cold and the numbers really don't matter anymore.

There's no doubt I hate the cold. I'm more of a margarita kinda weather person. I just wish the stinkin wind would quit blowin for a day. No wonder they are puttin windmills up like crazy around here.
