I was thinking (gets me into trouble) that alot of people used to make truck cabs from tudors/sedans. I have a bunch of 35 truck cabs and was thinking of chopping, channeling, and stretching them into a tudor body. I have welding, fab and even english wheel skills somewhere as well as vehicle A.D.D. so this kinda makes me think. Anyone else tried it yet? Thoughts? hurddles? thanks

It's kinda been discussed before. In the end it was decided crew cab conversions generally don't look very hot rod (I realize that's not what you asked) and most everyone thought it's easier to a find a sedan body rather than 2 truck cabs (again, not what you asked).

I photoshop'd one up one day, but I made a very poor choice of base picture. I've never seen what you speak of, but I think it could be done right - might take some serious metal work though.

Just read the whole 19 pages...WOW!!

That man is incredibly skilled AND generous enough to take the time and share his build for the chance of helping and/or entertaining others.

Thanks for the link, CORPO.[P

Shea:)

yup! read all 19 myself and holy crap that came out nice. I really like the attetion to detail in recreating the reveals and body lines. I was thinking that a tudor style would be "easier" as the back of the truck cab is a similar shape as the tudor rear. Although I will probably find out that just "simply tucking" the rear panel in will be a tn of hours.

yep its good stuff... no prob on the link i always feel leery posting links on forums to other forums...

Yeah i know you were looking to do a tudor, and i agree it might be easier to get the shape. I figured this was just a really good example of what you can do with a truck cab if you have the skills. Cause if i recall correctly some other dude posted a cab to coupe conversion in that guys build thread and it looked weird and the per portions were all messed up in my opinion

Good luck on yours

Yea getting the lines right is a big worry of mine. I hate cars that aren't built right like the rear wheel not being centered in the wheel well area etc. As I was reading through his coupe post I realized that I would have to add the 3-4" behind the rear window opening that the truck doesnt have. that and recreating the body lines. Food for thought. Might just try and finish the other truck first. I have to finish the top chop that someone else started. [;)
