those of you who read my posts and know l am usually pretty mellow and have a decent sense of humor. now the bad part l have to let people know.

we went sept 9th & 10th week-end to longbeach, washington for rod run and after figuring what it cost and how the show rated,,,,,, we were really disapointed:(

overpriced to death!!! $5.OO to $15.OO bucks to park and $5.OO bucks per person to get in, and if you wanted to go all three days you had to pay to park and to get in everyday.
way to much money for what it was. next year we go the seaside, Oregon show, wind and waves. free parking and no outragous price to get in to look at the cars. then the almost $4.OO a gallon of gas prices, we over spent way too much money for the value of the show.

there were some good people and a few nice cars, but overall, l left sad and disapointed.:(

the beach baron's need to do something about this, many of the people l went with with feel the same way and won't return next year.

diffentally does not live up to all the hype.

later

Sorry to see you had a bad experience there skull and I don't mean to question it but those prices are pretty cheap by todays standards. Sometimes it costs quite a bit to put on a show. Did you take any pictures:D

so 700 cars, $5 for parking and $5 to get in according to my dad.

I guess if you paid $15 someone saw you coming.

Lots of entertainment, vendors he said it was really good and there were a few rat rods around.

Course I wasn't there just going off what he said.

ya took a bunch of pics, there posted in the bs thread under going to longbeach.

l had a decent time, it just that when ya put together a show the clubs should included info on the flyer or the web site the prices to get in the gate and that parking was not free.

if l had driven a really long distance with the whole family to attend and then find out l had to spend a big part of my travel money just to park and get in, l'd be real unhappy and just leave.

there were people l talked to who said that because of some of the same reasons, they won't be back either.

the cruise after the show in town was great, had a lot of people say why go spend $$$ to get in the grounds to see the cars when ya can stand on the street from 5pm to whenever, see the cars and talk to the owner and have just as good a time.

next year when l go the oregon show, the family and l will go into longbeach friday and saturday eve/night and watch 'em drive by and have a fun doing that.

Went to GoodnrichGuys here once. Parked out in the desert for free but paid admission then walked past 95% of the cookiecut stuff just looking for some originality.Corporate car show. Zero comaraderie, zero atmosphere, all about the money.Real glad i didn't drive 150 miles to get to it.
