Project is a 36 ford truck. Currently I only have Frame and body and no front suspension. Looking to build a fenderless truck but using original hood and grill. Would like to end up with a spring behind, split wishbone setup.
I have no problem reconditioning old parts but im just not certain which parts, from what years can I search for. Will a dropped axle be a must if I use hood. Can all early ford axles be used are would some years be a better option for me. Im just trying to avoid spending money on parts I dont need. Thanks

Any of the early ford axles can be used from model As to 1948. But there are some differences in the width of king pin boss centers and spring perch boss centers. Most popular are the 32 thru 40 axles and the 37 thru 40 spindles. More after market brake kits available for those. Dropped axles are used primarily to lower the car but present some problems with steering component clearance. And dropped axles cost more than stock axles.
You mite want to consider starting a "build" thread to show us what you're building and ask questions as you post pictures, that will help folks here to give you tips and advice as the build progresses!:D Cuz we like pictures. :)
