Seems like I saw some of those at Tractor Supply, a little cheaper than that!!
Next time in I'll have to look!!

BTW I like them too!!

1742 Do look better, cheaper and look like backs fold forward for access to the cooler. Sure look more comfortable than the old rockhard bomber seats that are way over priced these days.

i like item # 1742 better

I do too except they are black and much shallower. The brown ones are 21.75 deep and the 1742 is only 15 inches deep, not near as much seat under my legs. I had an open car with black vinyl once and I'm sure some of my skin is still burned onto those, lol. How does that vinyl dye work?

vinyl dye or paint

Used some on a golf cart seat and its held up for 2 years, course the guys parks it in a shed not out in the sun continiously.

Beard Seats

If you are looking for something much more comfortable and very well made, check out Beard's "Lil Sportster" model:

http://redartdev.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=203&Itemid=21

These are very low profile, small in size for tight spaces, steel tube frame so they are well made, durable and exceptionally comfortable. They have tabs in the bottom rails which fit the common adjustable seat mechanisms which is a plus.

We made covers for ours with Mexican saddle blanket fabric so they didn't look "new".

I recall they were around $170 each.

My sister ordered a set of the brown ones for a horse drawn thing I am building for her, so I'll get to check them out and see if I like them. I see several styles of black ones that I like but black isn't happening and other color choices are few. I like that the brown ones are deep. I have never really driven a car that had the seats so close to the floor where your legs go out instead of down, which looks like it will leave a lot of weight on your tailbone and not so much under your thighs. Now you younger guys might be ok to drive with your legs folded up and your weigh on your tail end but I am too old and stove up to roll that way. So I think for me, the deeper the seat is, the better I will like it. If that 1742 was 22 inches deep, and red, it would be perfect.
Another thing I have been thinking, just for fun and temporary is to put a couple of the old steel machinery seats in. I have some, off a dumprake or horsedrawn mower. I'd have to put some sort of backrest in.
