I finally got my 1968 Singer 237 cranked up today, spent 3 hours and fixed a shirt pocket, made a scabbard for my HMR 17 and a cover for the machine. I also made lots of big knotted balls of thread. You have to thread it exactly right or it doesn't work. Now I want to find some of that stuff old army jeeps used for the seats.

I was hoping you might include a picture of the big knotted balls of string, as they sound like something I might like. Are you firm on the price?

I've seen guys sew stuff up & they make it look SO easy... & u know it's really not as easy as they make it look!

I have a good friend that does furniture uppolstery, he can run the machine and not even pay attention, does make it look easy.
I thought the military used some kind of oil cloth, that's what I want to find but haven't scouted any out yet. Like the stuff those Austrailian Duster coats are made of, or heavy tarps I suppose. Some Filson tin cloth would be the cool thing but they don't sell it, just garmets made from it.

I bought some Carhart fabric for one rod. Never used it, too cheap to have the work done.
