aside from leaving the windows down and opening from the inside --
is there a way to shave the door handles and open it manually --
or does it have to be electric or through the window?

hey,
sure there are several ways depending on your taste and budget, remote powered solenoids using a transmitter like car alarms are trick. the transmitter just activates a relay. and the relay can operate pretty much anything electrical, like a door pull solenoid. or make it cable operated using a pull style cable, usually hidden in the front wheel well.
i've also installed some with hidden buttons that activate the solenoid and hid them in the port hole on a 56 buick, just stick ur finger in and press the button and pop.

my orange crush pick up has a tiki handle on the firewall that is attached to the bear claw latch one twist and the doors pop open

hope this helps with some ideas. dp1

the tiki guy was what i was looking for ... i wanted it to be a manual way to do it ... dont know why ... just dont feel like going electronic -- i always go electronic --
i heard i could do a bike brake cable rig into the wheel well with a pull pin maybe .. i like the little handle idea too though ... guess ill just pull the door panels open and check my options out..

do you have any of the pictures of how you hooked up the inside of the door with the tiki handle rig?

took off the door panels and realized ... i dont even have locks on the car (or need them...) so i flipped the inside door handle to be easy to open from the little vent window and away went the outside door handles... problem solved.
