Holy crap! someone went to a lot of trouble just to make me feel welcome for lunch! But what if it rains? Does the umbrella swell up to cover the rest of the lunchwagon? [cl

I'd love to have another 56 Ford like the one I had when I was 18, but the prices have gone out of sight. And someone comes along and makes a lunch wagon out of one.

Oh well, all it takes is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. :(

My second car was a 56 sedan...had a 312 and the weirdest looking carburetor that I've ever seen..ran its a** off though! Always wished I had another too!

Mine was like yours, 312 with that "teapot" carb. It was a light blue and white two door hardtop and I converted it from automatic to stick. Made the mistake of trading it for a Rambler station wagon that had an Olds engine in it. Wish I had that car back.:(

In 1956 my Sister and Brother in Law bought a brand new hardtop Ford with the 312 and stick on the column. Bright red and gorgeous. I was about 11 and my sister was in her early 20's. She and I were driving through Philadelphia and two guys in a 57 Chevy pulled up along side at a light and started yelling wolfe whistles at my Sis. I told her to race them, and when the light turned green she smoked em ! [cl I can still see the look on her face, and she made me promise to not say a word to her Husband.:D Maybe that is why I am still a Ford man today.

Yeah, those WERE the days ! :D

My 56 was blue also. Bought it from a friend who got it from his aunt. She was the original owner. I drove it for a while and sold it to another friend who promised to have the title changed from my fathers name...I was only 16. He sold it and it went on a few more times until the guy who finally owned it robbed an Esso station. The attendant got the tag number and the police traced it back to....yep, my dad. They arrested him and took him to court.....maddest I ever saw him! Took him a couple of hours to finally get the judge to see what really happened.......yeah those WERE the days!:D
