The shoebox has a hemispherical cup in the spring perch about an inch in diameter with a matching bump on the springs to locate the springs with the axle. I have regular 3" blocks but they are incompatable. I don't see any info on the web about this. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks

could you not have a recess or hole on one side and an emboss or protruding area on the other side of the block to keep it located much like the stock setup did?

The aluminum blocks i just bought from Speedway are the typical type with a pin on top and a matching hole on the bottom. Doesn't match the Ford shapes at all. It would take a machine shop to refab these to fit.
The blocks need to be cast specifically for this application and i don't see anyone anywhere discussing this which is puzzling since these cars have been lowered with blocks now for 60 years. Thanks D.R.
