Good morning. I figured out how to register, log in, and read posts so now I am introducing myself. I am Sid’s wife. I love all things recyclable, re-purposed and restored. This particular hobby of Sid’s is one I embrace because we can do it together…and the end product will seat two. Honoring his grandfather and dad is a positive by-product of digging through scrap metal…which oddly enough I enjoy doing. Watching Sid create something from scrap is nothing short of a giant turn on for me. I am hoping there are other wives/girlfriends on this forum that feel the same way…FYI… the dishwasher incident was not a deal killer but now hosts a sign stating “off-limits to husbands". I am thinking that was his plan along.

Welcome aboard Mrs. Sid! Glad to see you here and it's nice to know that you appreciate what Sid does in his spare time. Hope you enjoy hanging out with us.

Good luck keeping Sid in line! We all need some sort of adult supervision.:D

Thank you for the welcome...this should be fun.The beggining stages of the rat (the planning and the what-ifs) have been great so far...I am so looking forward to every phase of the process and watching the rat's personality emerge.

Are you sure? I can post a picture or two of Sid climbing in and out of things that are not meant to be climbed in and out of just to rescue the perfect piece of metal...you know the one that is over there...out of reach... but a must have.

Welcome to RRR, Wife of Sid. Glad to see another wife that is into his hobby with him. Enjoy the site & the build.

That Sid is a lucky guy. Nice to see the support and interest you are showing in this project. What is this project anyway? Glad you found us, and welcome to the site.

Welcome - I wish ANYTHING I did was a giant turn on to my wife:(

You said it, Old Gold! Actually, my wife is pretty mechanically minded. If I could just get her involved, my build would be at least half way ready. :D Notice I didn't say done?

By the way Mrs. Sid, welcome to the forum! It's great to see some interest here from the fairer sex.

A few months ago Sid caught Rat fever. He hunted down and found a
1942 Ford truck cab.
Besides being a hobby I can participate in, the truck is rejuvenating memory of a garage built by his grandfather and worked by his dad in Oregon back in 1942. There are a couple of great photos posted under Sid’s thread of Rusted out in Oregon.
I am not mechanical but I can hand him a wrench and pick up dropped bolts, and for the most part I understand what he is talking about. The part I like is driving around to junkyards and spotting abandoned metal on the sides of old country roads. I also like seeing something made from nothing (or what appears to be nothing). The creativity of Rat builders is amazing. I tend to think along the lines of preserving and being cute…he is thinking along the lines of military and sculls. I am looking forward to the ride wherever it takes us.
