My skid loader hydros started getting hot on me and not having much power last night so this morning I tore into it. I have no idea why it wouldn't be getting fluid???

This is the pickup screen.
Two cans of carb cleaner and soaking for about a hour in diesel fuel and the screen is a screen again. I still have to change the hydro filters yet.

Dammit man. From the title of your thread I was thinking we'd get to see some enhanced tatas!!!!!! Carry on.

Similar situation: Way back, mid 70s, Navy, 100' Torpedo Retriever, quad 12V-71 Detroits, mounted to two hydraulic reduction gear. We had to pull both Detroits to get to the port side reduction gear for a clutch pack replacement. Got it all back together(about two months) and it didn't work. WTH? After about a week of troubleshooting, Squadron said "tear it back down". We did. The Squadron Master Chief was standing there watching when we opened up the valve body and found it full of silicone. He wasn't a happy camper, considering we were told not to use any on the gear rebuild. He took all our silicone. Then, we had to make gaskets for all the things we had used silicone on. We weren't happy campers then. You've got to be really careful where and how much of that stuff you use. That's all.

when i was in the navy i was in the engine room (steam) we were not allowed to have silicone. we had to make gaskets for everything.

I've been around heavy equipment all my life and know to not use any silicone on anything hydraulic. This is either left overs from previous owners or one of the guys who helped me used it on something and I didn't know about it.

It's back together with new filters and operates as it should now.
