Just wondering what some of your favorite sporting arms are. Not home defense or assault type stuff but sporting rifles/shotguns.
I have a couple and am going to buy another one pretty soon. I have a 45-70 Sharps and a 17 HMR. I have bids in on a couple but probably won't get either one. A 6.5x55 sporterized Mauser and a Howa 204.

My fav's are 9's & .223's! Texicans *love* their guns!!!

My favorite Shotgun. Is the top one in the picture. Winchester Model 1200 12 gauge. I bought it brand new in 1974 and have used the heck out of it. Still in great shape.

Favorite rifle and I don't have a picture of it is a Winchester Model 70 in 270 Win. It used to belong to my father in law. He gave it to me as a Christmas present about 12 years ago.

I also like cowboy guns. Top Winchester Model 94 Trapper in 45 Colt, Left top revolver Beretta Stampede in 45 Colt, Left bottom revolver Ruger Voquero in 45 Colt, Right Ruger Single Six in .22 LR/.22 Magnum

My preferences

I prefer my 1911 over the 9millys, and I have a M1 Carbine, and others. This past year, though, I bought a Mosin Nagant for hunting; a friend let me cherry pick out of the shipment they got in. Wow! I gotta say that even after almost ninety years the thing still shoots straight, the ammo is CHEAP, and that to a deer is like a sledge hammer to puppies... (not advocating the latter)

When it comes to guns I'm like I am with cars, I want something that they don't make anymore......and it sounds like DMW and I are brothers separated at birth :D I hoard old Winchesters, Pre-War Model 94,s , Model 70's (my fav rifle is also a Model 70 270 that my Dad gave me for Christmas a few years ago). Always watching for Model 43 Winchesters, my first gun was a Model 43 32-20 that I got when I was 10 and killed my first deer with it when I was 12. Got it out a few years ago and hunted with it just for nostalgia......killed a buck with it that year. Really love the old pump 22's like the Model 62's, got one of them for my birthday this year :D Got a Model 370 12Ga. single shot breakdown when I was 13 and my Dad showed me how to take it apart and clean it. Took it apart so much that it got to where it would come apart when you shot it......you'd have the stock in one hand, the forearm in the other and the barrel would be laying on the ground  It sits in the closet taped together now, use it for a snake and crow gun :p . The only other gun I try to collect is Model 37 Ithaca Featherlight shotguns but they are hard on the wallet

The only gun I've ever sold was a JC Higgins single shot 22 of my wife's that her Dad gave to her  When we were first married and struggling financially I sold it back to her Dad. He gave it back to her later and we repeated the scenario a couple times afterward  I still get kick out of asking him if he wants to buy a nice 22 [ddd:D

mini 14 with tatical scope and laser designater(great for hunting in "low light conditions"):D
favorite hand gun to hunt with is my true and faithful .44 super black hawk
