Hello every one. Well, I am another new guy here. I am from So. Cal and just finishing up on a 66 big block mopar. Now I am going to start on the next project. Build a rat rod from scratch. Looking forward to the challenges of the build. So be prepared for a few questions. I found the site here from a friend that is also building a rod as well.

Welcome to RRR. Yeah, ya got any parts gathered yet? Check out the builds section to get some great ideas.

I don't know anything and am not afraid to prove it.

Thanks guys. The Fury at the bottom is what I am just finishing up on. For this build. No pictures yet. I just got the idea yesterday when we were on a road trip to get a few more parts for my friends boat. He is building a few cars right now. One being a rat rod type. Since my Fury is about done. I need a new project. I just spent the last 8 years in 4x4's. And A little over a year building the mopar. This build may surprise some friends since I am going to go with a chevy motor and trans. I am going to try and do this build on about a 2,500.00 budget. I started looking at what have parts wise and think I can build this pretty cheap. My brother in law does most of my welding and I have a lot of friends that weld too. So free to very low cost there. I have a great idea for the front axle assy. from my off roading. So I may have a complete straight axle assy. complete with disk brakes that may fit almost any rat rod. Cost of about 200.00 or so. I am going to be searching through here for ideas on what body I might like and ideas for the frame and such. I am looking forward to this build. I am hoping to have it finished in a year or less. So feel free to toss out any ideas or things I may want to watch out for along the way

Parts I have

complete 283 motor
turbo 350 trans "donated by my friend Gene"
New radiator from another project
Possible usable steering column and wheel
