So Im looking into the types of steering box setup I wanna use on the 36. I woulod like someone to tell me the ins and outs of sprint car steering? Hope I called it what it is. Anywhoooo....it has the steering link hooked up on the side of the firewall. It looks cool and I think it would make more leg room? Mebe Im wrong. Any help here would be very much appreciated.

I think you are talking about cowl steering. There are several threads on the subject here. The biggest concern (to me) is that if your drag link and suspension arm (radius rod) aren't the same length it will cause bump steer. This is when these two parts travel on different arcs and it will usually cause your car to steer left when the suspension cycles upwards and them right upon rebound. A little difference isn't a problem. The problem comes when there is a big difference in the length of these parts.
Other than the geometry, it is a cool and perfectly acceptable way to go.

other thing to remember is that sprint boxes are usually alot faster ratio than street car boxes. Most are 8:1 or 10:1. most "fast" street car power boxes are 14:1 or 15:1 and manual boxes are 19:1 or 20:1. might have to play around with the length of the steering (pitman) arm to get it smooth and not "Darty"
