stuck in arizona with a broken a/c unit

ive got a split system my air handler is working but the compressor or whatever out side is not turning on..........and to add the the mess i rent this condo that will not unlock the doors to let us on the roof to see whats going on unless we give a 24 hour pre notice ive tried everyhing i can think of from inside it wont come on it will be monday till i can get on the roof

Well that sure doesn't sound like any fun moto. Two weeks ago after a hot day I was thinking all the home from work about kicking back in the a/c when I got home. When I got there the a/c was broken. It was as hot and humid in the house as it was outside. Luckily, it was a quick fix though. It still took all night for the house to cool down though.

Makes you wonder how those folks felt back before the advent of a/c.

i bet its something small like the breaker on the roof but i cant get up there unless i take some bolt cutters too it lol.....hmm i think i just gave myself a idea ha.........its 10:20pm right now and its 109 outside and 93 in here

F.Y.I master pad locks do not hold up to the power of my plasma cutter im on the roof and i called my a/c guy and he will be here by noon today yay

i wonder if this is against the rules for this condo complex.....ah o well

Motomech ya know rules are there for a reason....TO BE BROKEN! I bet if the ac unit went out on the unit of the guy that made the rule about the 24 hour notice he wouldn't have to wait. Way to show initative, hope your cool and comfy soon cause sweating in your own house sucks.

After my divorce we sold our house, and I moved in with my Sons. One August day the A/C went out. They kept sending a guy who kept patching it up, but it kept breaking. Finally, we sent a certified letter telling the management people we were putting our rent into escrow until the problem was fixed.

Magically, the next week an entirely new system was installed. It was pure h*** living in the sweltering heat, especially trying to sleep at night. I hope you get yours going.

good man, even if they do get mad at you for breaking the rules there is nothing they can do. when it comes to a/c, you will always win on it no matter how you act.

well my ac guy showed upat noon sunday and looked at my ac and quickly found the problem...it was a capasitator (SP?) it was all swelled up like a beer can ready to explode so it was gonna be a real easy fix ...but it was sunday and my ac guy could not get the part i needed till monday today

so he got the part today at 8am and 5 min later my ac turned on and started to cool the place down "THANKS AC GUY"

the hottest it got in the house was 96 and now its 78 sweet
