Hi all.
Posted this in the new members section but figured it belonged here.

This is our 62 Studebaker GT Hawk. Came out of the proverbial Wisconsin barn in Spring 2010 where it had sat for 33 years. We are the third owners.

289 Studebaker Full Flow V8, factory four barrel, T10 four speed, Twin Trak (Stude positraction). Originally a Florida car (still has the 1974 inspection sticker) 80,000 miles.

Yes, that is a Christmas tree on the roof - it was an unseasonably warm December day in suburban Chicago last year.

Our sons helped me pull the interior and paint the floors. We buffed it per the instructions in a PHR article. We ignored the rust around the front fender vents. Installed seat belts and highback buckets, a Turner Brake disk brake and dual master cylinder conversion, rear brakes, hoses and gaskets, bright third eye brake light, electronic ignition, Edelbrock carburetor, alternator conversion, clutch, repaired the Studebaker AM radio, spent last weekend installing a period column tachometer.

Old school Cragars (grandpa still had them in the box from a 1980s project) and the Isaac Newton suspension-lowering technique has dropped her a few inches.

The Hawk definitely has a Barn find/Survivor look with some rust around the front fender vents and a worn 1956 Golden Hawk-colored respray prior to 1977.

Nothing against the beautifully done Mustangs, Camaros and restored cars, but this survivor always draws a group of people because it is so uncommon.
Few people know of them and most like the quirky styling.

It is loud, smelly, leaky and rattles.
Needless to say, we love it and will never part with it.

Glad to have found this group.
