I'm sure some of you have done suicide doors on a pickup cab..I want to do it to mine (48 F1) at some point, probably when I get around to my chop, I want to get it running first to keep the motivation up.:D Any tips, tricks or cheats anybody wants to share? Pics would be very welcome as well..

thanks,
Tim

Make sure you stiffen up the back edge of the doors where you move the hinges to since they were not originally designed to be hinged from that area.

Use a 1x1 thick wall tubing in the rear (now hinge) panel.
There is an opening where it will fit. You will have to plate the door to hold the hinge. Use a good latch on front (claw type) for safety.
I was going to do my 46 but the cowl area was so rough that after I reinforced it I had to tie the front hinge area to the floor bracing. I would do the floor, reverse the doors and reinforce the body mounts before chopping it as there is no factory bracing in the roof area. Keep it on the frame when chopping it.
I spent 4 months reinforcing the body, floor and doing a 6" channel BEFORE I chopped it 6" inches.[;) go gettem....

I recommend that you make sure your doors fit as well as they can before you do any cutting. Try to lay out your hinges as far apart as you can but keeping them straight and square, use a piece of metal and weld the hinges together it will help to strengthen them plus it keeps them square and in line, you dont want to get a stagger or the hinges can bind. I recommend doing the doors before the chop that way things stay straight.
