i recently painted the frame and axles with gloss black tractor paint.
i smooshed it on with a roller and brushes.
it needed a real thick coat to stand up to gravel and whatnot.
took about 3 weeks to dry.

I don't remember Nebraska being that mountainous. It has been a couple years since I've been there though so maybe it's changed.

I did my frame the same way. I had some black gloss called Plasticoat and slather it on thick with a brush.
