OK, I'll try to make it short. I've got a 85 Cutlass frame to Z on both ends so it will lay frame. The frame rail toward the back sits higher off the ground than the front when it's at full drop by about 1". I need the new rails to sit flat.

Should I plan on making the back and front level when welding it up OR leave them at the angle they are at? Do I make any sense....

Steering geometry wise, will that 1" rise over 80" make any real difference? I think it comes out to about 1/2 a degree. I'm guessing since I'm using bags I can adjust for that.

How about welding wise? Will it be a bigger hassle one way or the other?

(Haven't found the right guy to weld it up yet, but trying to get it all straight in my head too.)

I nned to update my build....

Dropping the rear that 1 inch won't hurt, just add alittle more caster that actually may help steering. More important is to keep the wheel base the same on both sides and be sure the frame doesn't get twisted. Be sure the surfaces to be welded are clean and a good fit for your welder.

Pics would be good huh. Not really much to take pics of yet. I haven't done any cutting or anything yet. Just trying to get all the #'s right on paper first.

I probably should start a thread in the welding forum, since that's where most of my concerns are now. Wondering where and how the best way to go about splitting this frame is going to be since someone else will be doing the welding.

Maybe first I need to find a decent welder I can trust my life to. Talk with him, and go from there. Getting a local guy with time, a welder, and a place seems harder than I thought. So whats left has been a couple of "Uh...yeah, I can weld frame..." to a guy that seems to weld frame well but looks to be heavy on meth.
