I used to run Mobile 1 full synthetic in my 2001 Honda CBR929. I rodded the heck out of that thing for almost 10,000 miles and the clutch worked the same as it did with crude oil. I had the same reservations until I heard that one of my ridin buddies was using it.

It really depends on the type of bike and the type of clutch material
and the condition of the clutch

but if you really want to run syn oil and find that your clutch slips you can always replace the clutch friction rings for a set that can be used with syn oil or get stiffer springs to make the clutch compress more

Thanks for the replies! I compromised and put in Q-State that has Slick 50 already added. No problem with the clutch, but had to set the idle down a couple of times.

Motul makes a nice semi-synthetic. I used it for all my bikes. Practiced rolling burnouts for 5 days straight. 18-20 tires later clutch is still solid.

Synth OILS

For the best results in any cycle, you should use the Amsoil 20W-50.
I run this oil in all my bikes. MY Harley and Honda both have synth 20W-50.
Gear box is a little more noisy then when one would use the 70 or 90 RedLine.
But it really stays cool and the clutchs work great.:) Maximo
