I want to build one of these after i get some more stuff done to my truck. I had a idea though today that i think is awesome but i wonder if i'm underthinking it. I was talking about junking my leftover volvo body after i get my build's done with the other two. Those cars are the perfect shape though, it is teardrop! the body is also a unibody and the whole front end including the suspension unbolts from the body. i figure if i remove the windshield and front windows, weld in sheetmetal, weld one door shut and weld the trunk shut, also remove the back window, i will have a trailer. it already has an axle under it and the two side rear windows pop open real nice so i'd leave those for air, sunlight, etc. It would take some work but i bet a lot less then building one from scratch. then i would just have to get it titled as a trailer. sweet huh?

trailer

I did the same thing with a Honda Civic
It worked great I left the fuel tank in and used it to fill my ATV it had a electric fuel pump
I just cut the front off and added a tonge then pianted the windows black:cool:

Good idea Joe. That would make an interesting trailer. Now you only have to finish at least two or three car projects before you get to it. :D. Better get goin.

theres a guy here in mesa that didthatwitha jeep wagoneer 4 door all he did was take off the front end..hood...fenders...grill chopped the frame and added a tounge he left all the windows in so from the fire wall back it looks just like a wagoneer but the seats fold down and he can sleep in there and use the fuel tank to fill his quads too

the best thing about it is he pulls it with a identical wagoneer both have tha same paint and wheels its cool it looks like the trailer rearended the tow vehicle

this is the body style

glad to hear it's not a dumb idea; i wasn't sure for a minute there :D

i want it to tow behind my truck for camping and car shows, i'd also like to tow it behind the volvollac when it gets done (which is a ways away probably). :D
