We all know what I am talking about. All those old hulls of cars and trucks have the same smell. Just like the new cars all have that new car smell.
We like our rust, our patina, faded paint, and covered seat cusions, that old car smell is a comfort to me as well.

I love the rust, faded paint, and all that comes with it, but ... that old car musky moldy smell doesnt do anything for me. Ill be glad when it leaves mine, but i dont think it ever will lol.

The car show last weekend had a 52 plymouth that was restored to near excellent condition. Stuck my head in and there was that same old smell that my unrestored rusty plymouth has, it never leaves.

I love that smell. My dad's 48 Pontiac had that smell before he did the interior. I miss it. It still had all of the original interior when he got it. There's still a hint of it there but it's sort of a mixture of old and new now. I tried to get him to leave the original interior alone as it was in pretty good condition but he wasn't having it.

There's still a hint of it in my Anglia too. Even though I replaced the entire floor and repainted the inside. Must be trapped in the factory bench seat and wood framing inside the body.

its funny how the smell of all cars seem to linger,i notice a mustang smells like a mustang,a corvette smells like a vette, and by far...the best smell is the "old car",a little musty, with a touch of age,and if you lucky, that fant smell of a mouse nest(even it plays its part)..but one of my favorite things about getting an old ride home,is the tiny "treasure hunt" you get to go on,finding a wrench,a old mag, extra motor part,hubcap,etc.........got to love it!
