barn find...[P:D About the time those were running around, there probably weren't many paved roads and if I'm not mistaken, weren't those total loss oil systems? 15 minutes out of the showroom and they probably didn't look new and shiny!

I think these had a regular crankcase like a car and dippers on the rods. Top end oiling was done with an squirt can.
 
:eek::eek: Way too kool!! A real piece of art - I agree with the barn find look too... Great use of found parts for the bellhousing - fuel pump?

Gear reduction cover from a small Briggs and yes, part of a fuel pump. The cover is a little bigger than scale but looked the part, so it goes with these things, can't always keep everything to perfect scale using found parts. Pushrods and valve springs are a little fat too. I was pretty stoked to find those little NGk plugs, 1 inch long.
