I'm just needing to vent a little!! I was almost driven to violence this afternoon! It took me an hour and a half to make a twenty five minute drive home today. The reason? All the main roads that have any gas stations at all have people waiting out in the roads almost completely blocking them waiting in gas lines! Are people everywhere freaking out over gas availability??? It's so bad in Nashville that every time a station gets a supply it's instantly overrun with panic stricken idiots who drain the station dry within hours. Then these same MORONS wonder why there's no gas???? Is it this bad everywhere or just here in Tennessee???? A barge arrived in Nashville today with 1.2 million gallons for Middle Tennessee. That might get us through tonight but I'm doubtful!

Selfish S.O.B's!!!!!

In in Alabama the panic you mention seems to be long gone. Ole Ike did a real numnber on the "Profit Takers" though. Last week it was almost funny the local Jet-Pep price went from 3.49 a gal to 4.99 for regular, while right down the street regular was 3.49 still. Guess were the line was? Some of the local Shells and Texaco are still selling regular for 4.49, but most have returned to pre Hurrican prices and we seem to have plenty of fuel.

Gouging!

Here in Tejas we have an anti-gouging law. If stations or stores gouge during emergencies, hurricanes etc... we have a hot-line to turn them in & they get HUGE fines!

We have it too Tripper. 500 complaints were filed by last Monday night with the State A.G's Office. It sure doesn't seem to help much here. Tennessee also had the highest prices of any state with some stations in Knoxville selling regular for well over $5.00 a gallon. If people would just chill out they would find the gas they need. Maybe not at prices they are happy with but at least they could get gas!

No ripple effect in Minnesota. Prices went up 20 cents for a few days and returned to normal. No panic about supply.

Somewhat normal here too, if you want to call it that. Gas had finally dropped back down to 3.39, then with the news of the hurricane, it shot up to 3.99. Its amazing that when oil was almost $150 a barrel, gas was almost $4 and now that oil is around $90 a barrel, gas is almost $4 per gallon. Hmmmmm:confused:

Had about a 20 cent jump to $3.99 a gl last weekend. Most Louisville stations went to around the $4.25-30 range. Here is back down to $3.87 for regular folks. Ft. Knox is @$3.60 & some of the other areas close are even in the $3.50's. Earlier in the week in Louisville, the biggest problem was finding a station with power to be able to pump gas after Sunday's little  breeze.

It was like a mass evacuation here today. Probably the most cars I've ever seen on the streets of Nashville at any given time in all the years I've lived here. This apparently is just a regional thing based on what everyone else has reported. I've NEVER seen people as desperate as today. Prices are hovering at $3.95 here when you can find any at all. I finally broke down and went searching for some because I had to. After almost an hour drive and $48.00 dollars later at least I'm fueled up for a busy weekend. I swore earlier today that I wouldn't give in but like everybody else around here we weren't given any choice. If I didn't fill up tonight I might not have another opportunity until next week.

man sounds rough people waiting in line for gas and backing up traffic sound like a pain in the @$$ the olny time you see that aroud here is durring the Sturgis Rally but not a whole lot of gas shortages that i know of

The prices had dropped to about $3.59-$3.65 around here for a couple of weeks, but have come up a little into the $ 3.79 range now. But no shortage and no lines, business as usual.

I am in Knoxville TN and last weekend gas went to $4.99 it is down to 3.39 now. No long lines. Must just be the crooks in Nashville. It was here last week.:(

It continues today - Saturday. Not like yesterday but many stations still have lines and many are still out of gas all together. Yesterday was unbelievable! Fist fights in the middle of downtown streets, 1/4 mile long lines, traffic jams all over town, people out of gas everywhere! Basically total chaos! Prices are still over $4.00 too.

I was already growing very tired of Nashville in general and this kind of s*#$ doesn't help matters any.
