tilt front

mama wants a tilt front end on her 46 chev sed. del. has anyone done a tilt on same car, wasnt able to find similar on the forum , was wondering on how to hinge far enough forward as she lays in the weeds up front [car not ol lady] front clip is a 70 camaro. any ideas would be helpful. thanks

I tilted a 67-72 truck. I made a hinge out of C channel put it back to back ][ and made a pipe hinge to go along the bottom. I put it in the frame and tack welded it, then took a sawzall and cut the frame. If you are running real low sus it prevents it from tilting to far and you may have to go with a hinge like on the big chevy trucks where they stick out the front so it breaks over the bumper.

had my plans all drawn up , then my boy comes along and says "whats that?' then he drew up his take on it. he said to shackle the hinge so clip can be lifted and brot forward 4 in. before tilting up to clear the back of fender. yup from the mouth of babes ha ha. and yes she is low on the front almost 4 in. bumper to ground [ one day Ill learn to post pics.] honest

Wrinkles, I got to go with your son on the tilt. I've seen many of them on the Gold Coast. They look pretty trick. Although, I've seen some where you had a devil of a problem getting to the engine to work on it. Plan well my friend.
