Ok i have my 1972 Riv on here for sale. I've been offered a 1957 Ford 2dr post and cash. Problem is 57 needs all new floor boards.(Body on 57 is straight and it has a 351 hooked to original 3spd and rear end). But i still think i will end up with a more valualbe car even after the work. Opinions ??

If you get enough cash I would do it and I a GM guy. The '57 Ford is a really cool car. Can you do the floor yourself? If so and you get enough cash I would trade. Do you have pics of both? Good luck.

well im not a riv - fan, so my opinion might be biased;)

that and i'm scoping out a 57 ford wagon project.....

ya, i guess i'm for it-trade! trade! trade! and then post us some pics[P

Is there a '57 Ford that doesn't need the floor boards replaced?! I replaced floorboards, rocker panels & 1/4 panels on my ranchero & love the car! '57 seems to have been a highwater mark automotively. I like the '57 Ford just as much if not more than the '57 Chev! I would also love to have a '57 Ford wagon!

Trade if he'll give you about 5K plus the rotten old ford. I like Riviera much better than ford, slicker body style, more power, handle better and not rusted away like them fords do...:D my 2cnts!

Depends on how much of the floor needs replacing. The entire floor or just the foot well area. If it's just the foot well area i'ld trade in a heartbeat.

Those boat tail Riv's are cool but the '57 would make a bitchin' hot rod.

Here's the EMS floor panels I used on my Ranchero. They were strong, beautiful & fit really well! 57' rule!!! [ddd

In a New York minute. 57 Ford 2 door posts rock, great body style. I never let rusty floor boards slow me down, most old cars have them. They are very forgiving to fix, it's all covered up when your done. I have owned several cool cars that had old roadsigns under the carpet.
BTW, Ford sold 1 1/2 times as many 57s as Chevy did, they were much more popular in 57.

trade or not to trade

Well i finally made a trade. not for the 57 Ford, couldnt come to terms, but for a 51 merc on a 1978 Olds floor pan and frame. donor car only has 81,000 original miles. Merc is a little rough but will end up with a better deal in long run. will post pics next week when i get car. opinions??

Sounds like a good trade. I personally like 57 Fords and 51 Mercs, so as long as you're happy then the trade was good![cl Post some pics..:D..CR.

How about some pics of both, I've seen you're Riv. it's pretty nice. But I'm a 57 lover so it would be a no brainer for me. The 57's are getting pretty hard to find.

trade

will post pics as soon as i get car home. car has 350 olds engine with turbo 350. like i said it only has about 80,000 original miles.so it will stay
