For any of you who have struggled getting a 7 Prong RV plug wired right.
This one has white for ground but if you use the 7 wire trailer cable there probably isn't a white wire so I use black for ground.

You've brought up a sore spot for me. 7-wire RV wiring and plugs are really annoying and usually all different. The seven wire cord that I'm used to has a white wire[ quite often bigger] for ground and works really well in the big trucks and trailers. I've wired a lot of big truck stuff and it is so easy because the different coloured wires are used to go to the same thing on every truck/trailer unit. White is ground, red is brake lights, green is left signal, and so on. After I wired hundreds of big trucks I became arrogant enough to try wiring an RV unit. Wrong Mistake! I'm a way smarter now.

The color of the wires doesn't change, just the way the 7 prong is labeled is all jacked up for some reason. Anyway, hope that little diagram helps someone avoid the frustration some of us have went through with those 7 prongs. They are pretty standard on pickups now. and all my trailers with brakes are wired with them. The trailers without brakes have the flat 4.
