I searched to a bit over 2 years back & didn't find the answer to my question, so will make a new thread. What is the recommended length for a trailing arm suspension? (From pictures I've seen, it looks like about the same as the diameter of the tire - does that sound right, as a general rule?) And how much spread do you need at the frame end? This is a bit different, because it is independent rear suspension, with a chain drive to the wheels, with quarter ellipticals. (It's for a cycleKart. If that part is too weird, then I'd just like to know if I'm on the right track for the length. I could ask on the cyclekart forum, but they seldom do any kind of rear suspension, and if they do, they make it rigid from side to side.)
