tranny choice poll

Now I will have money to get a tranny to put behind the 260. Some of my choices
T10 with no shifter--$200
V6 T5---------------$75
Fake toploader with 4th gear overdrive, has van shifter, $150

The T5 puts the shifter in the best place but I have to make an adapter for it

i am a manual man , i like the t5,, got one on the porche wait for a project,, traded for a i6 today with a 3speed, going to mate the t5 to it,and the s10 rearend, soon as i find a cab and chassis

i vote t5, you can find them pretty cheanp 75 to 125 around here

Well, I missed out on the BW. I can get the T5s for $75 so even with the adapter thing it still puts my shifter where I want it. These are the 4 banger version but I'm told they will handle the 260 ok.

What year is the t-5 out of

Got any serial numbers on the t-5....correct me if im wrong..but for under 250 hp application the pre 1988 s-10's have the best t-5 application ...once again for low hp..

Not enough pedals.

On the the Ford T5, both of the bottom holes line up making it fairly easy to build an adapter, and the shifter location is further back where I need it. The S10s have the shifter very far forward.
