Well, don't know much about 'em myself, but they seem to have a solid rep. And as far as putting it in a rat rod, that would be a hoot! If you can get the trans and all the fixin's with it, why not go for it? Go for the whole drivetrain.

but is it gonna be hard to do a short exhaust, like just headers style, or will i have to run a full exhaust do u think?

Well now, let's see....big motor, lots of complicated unknown gadgetry....sounds perfect!:D Be the pioneer of Tritons and teach us all how it's done. Five pipes out each side would be something to behold!

still gonna try for it, i think it should be pretty kool, thinking an auto 4-5 speed behind it and just keeping the lincoln pretty much stock looking, stock ground height, same cab size and all, just remove the hood and front fenders to fit the v-10, and possibly down the road thinking bout maybe trying to turbo the v10 for a little more fun.

I'm all for it, but it seems like alot of work. Taking into consideration the computer/electronics side , exhaust issues, etc.

Easiest would probably be to pull EVERYTHING and the transmission too. Might even want the dash. How much are the electronics integrated?

electronics, computers, sensors, pollution controls, EFI.... more work than i would want. Plus side, IF you get it all togeather you can buy a Hypertech programmer for it and gain crazy power.

A customer of mine has 3 tow trucks all with the V-10s. Last year he had to do overhauls on 2 out of 3 because the block rotted out around the spark plugs. The blocks were stripped, then drilled, then had thread inserts installed. Now he only owns 1 out of the 3, the other two were replaced with Dodges with Hemis.

If it has a crank sensor, or a cam sensor, and it must, you could probably figure out a distributorless ignition got it so you could carb it. I am betting this has all been done to rewire it and use a much simpler system and keep it efi.
