They've changed the registration laws here in Tejas & just about the only way to get a title now is to get the car inspected, just got the Chevelle inspected last week. The good news is... about the only thing they inspect now is... do you have lights, do your brake lights work & does your horn work... that's it! SO... I'm in the process of installing a real windshield & windshield wiper ('40 Fords only had one). The space under the dash is pretty skimpy so this is what I'm gonna install.

The Mighty Wiper!

Cooler weather is coming. Good thinking to get that one legal and on the road.
Love that truck!

The good news is, it only has to work for a couple of seconds to show them it is functional. After that, you will probably never use it again, Bob.

I'm glad the only vehicle inspection that I have to worry about is my cmv inspection on my trucks. None of my hot rods have had turn signals, horns, or wipers.

Any reason you chose the mighty wipper? I was looking at a similar one to what sneaky snake posted up on eBay... Similar 40 dollariah pricepoint ...

The one I was looking at said that it won't allow the swing out windshields to function anymore but that doesn't make any sense to me... Should just require a pivot (elbow flex point) on the wiper arm... ??? [S

I used one on my panel truck & it wasn't bad!

I always thought it was humorous that Texas required windshield wipers but didn't really require a windshield. Must have changed.

OMG... they used to tag you for *everything*. Fail if you had... bad tires, no blinkers, bad wipers etc! They even smog tested! Now it's nothing like that!

I do get caught in the rain occasionally so it will come in hand in that case!

The main reason was the size of the unit & the space I have under the dash to install it! The Mighty Wiper is 2" high, 1 1/2" deep & 4" long!

I'll report on how the install goes & how it works!

wiper

no "fair weather law" in Texas?

here we don't have to have wipers, fenders or hood under this law. only the dodge truck of the 4 l have has wipers one it and they don't work.

Later:cool:
