Does anyone know off hand the exact size and spline for an original vega steering box. I've measured it and counted the spline but I'm not confident its right after digging through a box of joints at a swap meet and none of them fitting.

Still crazy after all these years!
According to my trusty Speedway catalog it is 5/8", 36 spline. Their Vega to 3/4" double D shaft u-joint is $60.00.

My Vega box is 5/8-36 spline on the input shaft but it's a Flaming River box. I believe the factory boxes are the same just like Bob W. posted.
