I've seen people try to dye them....

any one ever paint a existing vinyl top and how did you go sbout doing soo?

didn't work out well....not sure about painting it, but they've come a long way with vinyl paint since I last saw someone try it.....would be interesting....

You can paint or dye vinyl tops with great results if you do it properly....make sure it is clean....scrub it lots with soap and water, spray nine works great...rince throughly and let dry completely, you should use a vinyl prep on the top prior to dying or painting...this will soften the vinyl so the top coat will bond better...check with an automotive paint supply store or an upholestry shop to get the proper dye or paint..."Sem" products work quite well....follow the directions and it should work fine....again make sure it is clean and vinyl prepped before painting or you will have problems...Hope this helps.

my friend picked up a 77 buick reviera and the top is fadded. He wants to keep the top on it but its fadded. We havent started working on it yet but just trying to figure out some posibilitys. I have used sem in rattle cars on car cloth seats with great sucess.
