Whoop de doo............

Fiat buys them and Chrysler goes back to being the fuddy duddy car that it was in the Renault years...............Maybe, this time they will bite the big one like they should have back then.

Never was a big Viper fan and their V10 has a really strange exhaust note but you have to give Chrysler credit for building an all out muscle car! [ddd

Gonna be nothin' left at Chrysler but vanilla but probably the same with the rest of them too. I sure don't se many new Chryslers on the road either.

I agree that the new Challenger is very cool, Chrysler hit the mark on that one. As for the Viper, I really wanted one years ago and then I got to drive one when I worked at the bodyshop.........worst car I have ever sat in. When your turned your head to back up or change lanes you bumped your head on he roof pillar and getting in and out was tough too. But the styling was out of sight.

The Prowler was just strange. Why build something that was supposed to simulate a hot rod and put a 6 cylinder in it?

I never understood the prowler either. I think it was just a rich mans toy.
Useless
I saw where the complete frame had to be replaced on a Prowler because of hitting something in the road. Frame is aluminum so it could not be repaired for some reason, frame looked pretty good to me except for a gouge

The Viper I drove when I worked at the body shop was wrecked when it came in. The rocker panel alone was $ 4500.00. Overall it had $ 35,000 in damage and it wasn't hit all that bad but all the parts were just so expensive. I bet the guys insurance agent hung himself that week because the wife of the viper owner also wrecked her special edition Escalade a couple of days later.

Prowler was a good example of a cool show car that got ruined by the corporate bean counters. Crappy sounding V-6 and automatic from an Intrepid? C'mon.

Same with that silly Chevy SSR convertible pickup/hotrod thing. I'm not sure who that was supposed to appeal to, but it was heavy and slow (used full-size truck powertrain/chassis), but yet couldn't carry anything in the bed and was like $50k. For that money you can get yourself a real hot rod with some actual street cred. They didn't sell many of those.

I really liked the viper because it was true to what it was. The corvette got heated seats, navigation, bose radio etc etc.... My freind gets his uncles srt10 in the summer and man that thing is raw. Its a performance car and thats it, it aint sugar coated

Ever since Chrysler introduced the PT Cruiser at auto shows, I've always thought they had a knack for translating the concept car into reality.

That being said, I've never liked the Viper, always thought it was ugly.

One day, like maybe when I'm about 50 or so, I hope to be able to afford a 2010 Hemi Challenger. Those things are freakin' gorgeous!!![dr

I just saw a pre-production Camaro ragtop running around a couple of weeks ago...just like the coupe, it doesn't do a thing for me. I can't understand how Generous Motors can sell so many...They had a hard time here in 'Shwa keeping up for the demand for quite some time...[S

The biggest problem with the Viper was its price range, most of the people who could actually appreciate the performance couldn’t afford it, and the ones that could afford it couldn’t handle it.

I really didn’t understand or appreciate the car until I drove one. It’s a street legal race car and is completely unforgiving (like most race cars). I immediately understood why so many have been wrecked, have very low miles or both. With the exception of professional race drivers and a few wealthy car guys, most Vipers just ended up in garages with owners who had no clue how to handle them.

I friend of mine drove the same Viper I did and he hated it, but I loved it. If I had had the cash I would have kept the car. I’ve driven a lot of Vettes, and a Viper is not even close to the same thing. The Corvette is a much more refined car, with all the creature comforts that many people expect. And like I said already, the Viper is a race car with a little bit nicer interior.

I kind of hate to see it go, but I also don’t really understand how it’s lasted this long.

Rumor has it that the Viper may not really be dead. ...or really dead. Somebody in the new Chrysler thinks they still need the car in the line up. It may get a facelift and come back for a couple of years of production.

No more than they sell, I find it hard to believe that it is worth the effort to bring it back again. Not to mention the fact that the EPA rules on gas mileage are getting tougher.

I read the test between the Camero, Mustang and Challanger. Mustang and Camero won every catagory and the pudgy Challanger came out on the bottom. The Charger could have been a cool car if they made it a 2 door and brought the rear pillars forward a foot or so. The long cabin 4 door and abreviated trunk make it look too goofy. One thing I have appreciated about Chrysler products is that you know what they are when you see one coming, not the me too vanilla pudding look of the other manufacturers.
