Live in the hilly country of Chillicothe Ohio.
I was at a local car show Friday night (every third Fri. of each month at Mc Donalds) and met a guy with a nice Comet convert. Talking and told him my wife wanted a big 4-door car so all 4 of my kids could go to car shows with her without the mini van.He said I have just the car! Went today and looked at it! 1958 Edsel 4-door citation! REAL GOOD shape but does not run.Power windows, seat, brakes and steering!!! In a 58! Only one little rust spot on edge of pass. rear door sill (easy fix). He wants $1000. I know the Edsel is ugly but I'm loving it! Mainly cause its so clean!
What do you think I should do? I didn't take pics but can get some.
??????????????????????????????????????????????

Edsels are so ugly they're cool..>I had this one a couple years ago....at one of the
local car shows I got an award for the best grocery getter...could've loaded enough groceries for the neighborhood in that thing

Sounds like a perfect rig for the family and at a good price. Lots of engine choices for it too.

I'd go for it myself. Edsel's are very uncommon most places, increasing the different factor.

I say go for it too! Edsels have their own unique look to them and draw attention where ever they go...CR

do it

get it!!

my buddy has 4 and loves them.

the latest one he picked up is a 1959 4 door V-8 for $7OO.OO and it has 38,000 oringal miles. the car was bought from a 78 year old lady who can not drive anymore. the car was taken to a car show in 1983 in western washington, then drove to montana where it was driven very little. the car spent most of it's life in a garage, this thing is a real time capsule. looks like it's only 5 years old, not 50+. then last year the lady moved back to WW and drove it for the last time just to get it back here, then sold it. my friend bought it and drives it to all the local car shows.

SO GET IT:D there cool.

Later:cool:

Well talked it over with the wife and ofcourse she was against it!
"we have other things to spend that money on" ! "Besides you have too many projects" and on and on and on...............................
Soooooo I am going to talk to him about holding on to it for me till fall and pay him a bit at a time and then just bring it home when I can.!
I'm sure THAT will go over good! But OH WELL!![P

been there heard that........my wifey saw a cool old sta-wag @ a car show a couple of years ago and wanted one....so i showed her one that dad had stuck behind an old barn and she liked it--so i got to planning the build, discussing colors, motor/trans etc.

she said i ruined it -talking about it too much, decided we couldn't afford it etc. etc.

but i'm gonna build it anyway[ddev
sorry for the rant-
hope to see pics of that edsel soon
