I stop selling and buying on Ebay about 1 1/2 years ago because of some issues I had with them. I use to buy and sell between $6,000 to $10,000 a year prier to this.

Anyway my daughter got me a $50.00 gift card for Ebay at Christmas which she did not know I stopped sell and buy there. So I decided to go on there and us it. Well the last 4 items I was bidding the sellers removed it with a little more then 1 day to go because it not available for sale any more. What is up with this and ebay allows this to happen.

If you want to get so much for it put a reserve on it.

I know after I use this card I will stop using them again.

I just had to rant.

I know the feeling. Doesn't seem like much of a auction site anymore either does it? Everything is "By it Now".

It has changed a lot. I'm not sure what you are buying that they pull the auctions??? I know you can't pull one with bids if there is less than 24 hours to go. Often cars are for sale locally also and it will say so.
Reserves suck, nothing with a hidden reserve ever gets much bidding action because people want to know what it costs. Just make the starting price the bottom dollar is best.
I love to sell buy it now. Also it costs less to list that way and you can add the make an offer option.

The last item was a Chassis Engineering Trans Mount kit for a 35-40 Ford Frame. I was the only bid on it and swear that there was under 1v day left when the seller removed it. That was this Saturday

Before that was a tunnel ram intake for a 302 Ford

Then there was a set of fenderwell header for a 302 Ford

And the Aluminum sluts.

I had bids on all four items and the sellers removed them because the part was no longer available.

The problem I have is people not selling there items after they but them up on Ebay. To me you put it up for sale on Ebay you should have to sells it or unless you put a reserve on it and it does not reach the reserve.

I know when I use to put stuff on ebay I would have people Email me and try to have me sell it to them before the sale was over. My answer was bid on it and if you are the high bidder its yours. That only fair.

I have to depend on ebay sometimes because there are no swap meets or old parts for sale in my area to speak of. Sometimes, it's the only place that I can find the things that I need or want. So far, I have not had a problem. Lucky I guess.

That's weird, I have bought hundreds of things and never had it happen. It's also lame as heck. Did you report the sellers? Not that ebay would do anything about it.

I have contacted Ebay and they said the seller has the right to remove the item. I even have they special Phone number for they special seller.

just say no!

i too have stopped selling on ebay i first opened an ebay account in 1998 started parting out cars way befor the word rat rod or gasser was used much in the selling titles. made some very good money at for several years. ended up being a power seller with over 28000 sales. i stopped selling when they changed there rules on feedback, sellers rights, listing fee's, ect, ect, .. after i requested to close my acct. i was "assigned" a ebay rep and phone number "all my own "..
they have changed the rules as far as removing items also, this took effect january of 08 sellers can remove item at anytime now as long as its posted in the description. they have also changed the rules with paypal and will refund a buyer 99.9% with out so much as a prpoer investigation.

when i filed a complaint with the nevada and california b.b.b. (EBAYS AND PAYPALS HOME STATES AT THE TIME) about these practaces neither ebay or paypal responded. i did end up winning both disputes and was return money and status but the trust was gone and like in any business if you dont have trust you have nothing.

basically all i was ever told is we want to make ebay more secure for buyers. but doing this they have lost hundreds of seller and are gaining a rep as a risky place to sell. just type in, screw paypal and look at all the cases linked to ebay you will be amazed.

it sucks really cause it was a blast at first running my in home business i even paid my then 11 year old son to box stuff up print labels and run the stuff right up the road to the post office. just the other day he called me from his appt (he's away at college back in texas where we used to live at the time) and said he ran into one of the post office emplyees and she remembered him kinda kool i guess. dp1
