these adapters have been out for a lotta years and still available. my question is? are they really unsafe or are peeps blowin smoke. Im not interested in hearsay just the facts. I ordered mine to widen the stance [used a chevy2 rearend] and adapt to a ford rim.4 3/4 to 5 1/2 this was needed to match the width of f100 front axle. now Im waiting to hear from those in the Know. thanks, Bruce

never any problems with the set I used, stock 5 on 5 Pontiac, to 4 3/4 Chev, so I could find wheels, on the front, and heavy car too. did'nt look impressive, but they worked.

be very careful when buying them. I never run more than 2" adapters and never never run the cheap cast aluminum ones! Always spring for the extra money for the billet aluminum units. Even then I won't use them if I am going to auto cross or drag race the car/truck. Just my $.02

I have never and will never run them..I watched a guy launch a car on slicks at the strip with adapters..both failed on launch, destroyed both quarter panels on his car as he rolled up and over his slicks..

It all depends on who made them . Cheap ones made in China could be crap as most of the Chineese knock off stuff is . Made in America , cut out of American made stock should be ok . I made my own out of steel . Going on 5 years and no issues . I designed them ,gathered the material and had them drilled in a machine shop . Total cost including top quality lugs ,material and shop time $165.00 .I actually made a prototype out of wood , had all my dimensions right on and had a working model to show the machinest , which helped him understand what i was trying to make . Mine are on my drive axle as your will be . It's not rocket science , build your own it will be an enjoyable and safe experience . If you are interested I will pull a wheel and take some pics
