When your bored and waiting for parts..

What do you do while your bored and waiting for parts..? I have always been interested in old gas station stuff..LOVE those old pump and signs to.Figured I would try my hand and see how I do,besides..I am BORED while waiting for parts....

.First one ...The picture is what it is SUPPOSED to look like when I am done.Second pic is almost ready for the Shell to get painted on it.Its about 3 feet around.I found a forum and one guy shows how he did his using an overhead projector.He also loves those old signs but have you even SEEN some of the prices they get for them..?!?!?! So he got to thinking and came up with this really cool idea.I already have 3 more lined up..parts better hurry up..!!!

Very nice BadRATT. Why don't you come down here and spruce up the inside of my shop while you are bored. I usually don't have time to get bored while waiting for parts because I have way too many projects going at the same time. I'm always way behind.

Sam Fear,you eagle eye..!!..How and the HECK did you notice that tombstone.?!?!?!? LMAO...

I bet someone NO ONE would notice.!! Anyway,its painted on a scrap piece of MDF board,covered by formica.I used oil paint only on it and I am thinking I might have to seal it somehow.I found some more waiting in the wings to be done next....The PLAYBOY MOTOR CAR one might be next.The CHEVROLET one I REALLY like...But I need to pick up some more board first...I know they dont look that good,but hey...I only have 15.00 dollars into it so far..( cost of the overhead projector..) and I always wanted some to hang on my garage.

I'll bet several noticed the the tombstone, I was the first to point it out - rats tend to look for hidden treasures in the background.

Not sure if you can find a usable one, but farm feed pans might work as a good metal base - not sure how big you can get them - I've seen crimped edge ones too (like giant bottle caps).
