I figure this doesn't quite fit in the 'Muscle Car' Forum. :D We switched off driving it 3hrs to my Dads shed for winter storage. I was like a sardine, but my wife at 5'2" (when wearing 2" heels ) had no problems. Bought it from a man originally from Wales. As usually goes, he spent a lot of money fixing it up for fun and sold it to me at a big loss. Runs good, has a few minor issues (5th gear hums, dog tracks about 2" off, brakes are squishy, etc.), and isn't much on the top end - not a interstate runner. Hopefully it will get her over wanting a motorcycle, not sure this thing is any safer in town though. No I'm not going to put a SBC in it! :D (Although the 130hp Honda motor I have would fit well.....[ddd)

If I move the front axle out in front of the car a Big Block might fit - headers out the wheel wells.... hmmmm..... wife would kill me! :D

Forgot to mention, it's a 1974 MG Midget MKIII.

Very cool Sam! Ain't it great when the 'Women Folk' want in on the action. :D
[S Wait a minute........who's gonna work on this thing? It's not gonna cut into the 'Rice Patty-A" is it.:p

That MG would be a great candidate for an Olds Quad-4!

If you stuck your arm out the window like when you're in the Olds, I bet you could touch the ground :)
Turbo charged Buick 3800 V6

those little cars are fun, to bad my fat a$$ can't fit in it. put a small turbo on it, i see them every once in awhile at the yards.

I had a 60 Bugeye Sprite, basically the same car as your new one. It got fantastic milage, I went from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia (300 miles) on one 6 gallon tank of gas ! Wish I had that car now.

I later on put a Judson supercharger on it which woke it up, I could climb hills much better and it just made a better car out of it. But I wasn't happy with that so I swapped in a 289 Ford with some Cobra parts, and a C4 trans. Basically I ruined a nice little car, but at 80 mph I could open up the Holley 4 barrel and light up the tires.

With gas prices what they are I would love to have one of those to putt around in. Looks like you found a really nice one, and it is RED, just like it should be. :D

Hey Sam

My bestest buddy David used to race one of those MGB's on the SCCA circuit back in the 1980's and into the mid 1990's at Watkins Glen and Limerock Park Conn. He had a blast in his, put a roll bar in it and everything (no cloth top tho). Numbers on the doors and wide radials all the way around too. I still can see that thing, I got to letter it before he raced it. Brings back good memories for sure.:)

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Super fun little cars Sam. I talked a friend into trading his pickup for one. Then i would borrow it and his girlfriend while he was working all day. :) Push the clutch in while you are letting off the gas. If you time it right you can make the little pipe crack every time you shift. Top needs to be down for the full effect. :)
