I was wondering something...Will the old wire rims fit onto a standard car..? Or do you need some kind of a spacer.?

If you are referring to early Ford wires then no, they only fit on early Ford hubs and drums. I already addressed that in your Dodge rear end thread. Otherwise you need to be more specific...

Found my answer..

Talked to a guy from KillBillet. He bought 1.5 inch spacers and used them on his Rat with the early wire rims and hasnt had any problems with running them at all.Been on his car for over 3 years. Now off to go buy mine...:)

Just because someone else does it doesn't mean it's a good idea. Yes, I see people running these wheels with adapters but I wouldn't put my life on them. The design of the Ford wire wheel wheel incorporates the hub and drum into the structure. Take that away and you are severely compromising the strength of the wheel. So that being said, you are taking a 70+ year old wheel and putting more weight, stress and speed to it than it was ever designed for, and THEN putting it on an "adapter"? No thanks...

Well,with all of those guys

Well with all of those guys running those adapters and no one reporting problems I have to believe that the company selling them just didnt slap something together and starting selling them.I looked at dozens and dozens of pics and e-mailed a few guys about using them and not one said he had a problem.I think the company knows better as the fact of seeing so many lawsuits they just didnt put them out there.Living life is a danger everyday anyway..driving,walking or just sitting someplace. The fact remains it hasnt changed my mind and I will run them. With all of those guys putting on TONS of miles,I guess I will be one of those guys too...:D Keep trucking...

Badratt,Here ya go. I know alot of guys that run these without any issues.

Adapter

You just got to take it easy on those old wheels. I also have a set of 35 wires that I will run on my Poncho from time to time. I also bought Artillerys and Gennie wheels from him. Gary and Jimmy are really good people to deal with and lots of guys buy there products over on the HAMB without ever having issues with the products.

i'm with blue eyed devil, lots of people jump off bridges n live but i think i'll wait on that too,

i run em on the front of mine with the correct drums and support spacers that are designed to work with those wheels. but hey i dont want to be the hot rodder who kills some little kid cause his wheel came off.

show some pics of how they all fit together, maybe the ones your buying support the wheel too. (the wheel, drum and spacers)

goodluck br.

But it happens...

Little kids and people get killed all of the time and for A LOT of other different reasons..I am NOT going to be afraid to drive my car and wonder if something might fall off or break or whatever.!!See the guy who died while driving his Harley in a thunderstorm..? Hit by lightning..It happens..freaky things all of the time.Like I said..HUNDREDS of guys use them with NO PROBLEMS what so ever and I am sure THEY all cant be lying..Seen stranger things happen to NEW cars and trucks. If its going to happen..it will.:D
