what would you guys suggest when it comes to replacing the stock wiring harness? i have a 68 f100 and its been spliced into and rigged, so i am thinking i would look into it. but at the same time, i dont want to break the bank with one either. fairly easy and cheap is what i am looking for.

I used the EZ Wire kit in my last couple of cars. It was pretty cheap and worked out well. Wiring is my weakness so I like to use a kit.

i hope this is not a stupid question but what size system should i use. i am not looking to add a stereo or anything like that. will just be running the same factory options for the truck.

Well I used the EZ Wire mini-12 in my Anglia. I don't have a stereo in there but I have an electic fan and electric fuel pump. I used it because I didn't need the extra circuits and the fuse box is very small. As a bonus, it was also their cheapest kit.

We used the 21 circuit in my dads car because he has a/c, stereo, and other creature comforts.

My .02!

Cabby,
There are lots of cheap systems avail now but I prefer ones that are already terminated at the fuse box. On Ron Francis & others... u have to terminate both ends which I think is just double work... IMO. Just my .02.

I buy rolls of wire, terminals, a fuse block and then I make my own. I enjoy the wiring task. 'Course, all my junk is simple so there isn't too much wiring and even less thinking required. I solder and shrink tube every connection and have never had a failure. A lot cheaper too (that's the main reason for doing it this way).

i enjoy wiring also. i totally rewired the inside of a mustang once to make it a little more custom but to actually do a block and wire everything up kinda worries me.

Like I said earlier, wiring is my weakness and I don't like to do it. If I started from scratch like Bob W does, I would end up making a mess. Hats off to the fellas that wire them up like that. Another thing I like about the kits is that the wires are labeled all along the length of the wire. Makes it easy for me.
