Here's a couple of sketches of my concept for a new project to start on in the spring. I'm hunting for a 33-36 flatback sedan, no particular make, could even be a 4dr. which I'd convert to a 2dr. I want to eliminate the B pillar for a 'hardtop' look with functioning windows - the quarter windows could be fixed. With a 2x6 frame and some extra body bracing, it should keep the body stiff enough.
A while back I was at a cycle shop and saw a pair of Indian motorcycle headlights so I got inspired and bought a pair for this project. Also got an air ride kit and have been making some frame and suspension pieces.

After the Caddy and the Golf Cart, I have no doubts that this next project will be a knock out too....I'll be tuned in to follow along when you do start it

You're supposed to be in Aridzona by now. :D

Need some more prairie tin? You'd have to cut off the humpy trunk...

.

Yeah, I'm heading down south after New Years, just had to shovel some snow first :D
I've been keeping an eye on the abundance of tin out your way and in Oilberta, may have to snoop around there some, though I promised the wife I wouldn't drag anything home till we come home in April [ddd.
The roof of the 36 Chevy is a little too rounded for me, though if the mood strikes me right and the Sawzall is handy, you never know...
I already started puttering with some parts I had laying around. A free 40-sumthin' Chev pu axle, cut off the leaf mounts, added some ventilation holes, tidied it up some and welded on bag mounts. Welded some plate to the web and drilled pilot holes for perch bolts to mount split bones.

I can't wait to see your next build!
Those headlights are a really great shape, it is nice to see something with some lines to it other than round. Wish I would have thought of that!

ZZ,

I'll dig out the business card of the guy in SK that has the junkyard of over 200 cars and trucks and send you the info.

I know he has exactly what you're after.

Here's some more pieces of the puzzle - cleaned up a 78 Merc 9" rearend I had laying around, I have a 4:11 gearset and locker to go in it. Fabbed up a set of 4 link bars with bag mounts on the lowers, top ones will be angled to eliminate a Panhard bar. Had just enough 1/8" plate to make the side pieces for the front and rear frame kickups and wrapped the front frame pieces with 2"x1/4" flat bar to create the boxed front frame horns - yet to be fully welded. Now I'm all out of materials and time 'till April :(

Hey Doc !
Just got home last week from Aridzona and I'm plowing through the backlog ' honey-do list '... I put an offer in on a 36 Packard 120 nearby, though they seem to be dragging their feet on a decision (estate sale). If I don't drag home something soon I may dive into another hot rod golf cart build to keep me busy ( just brought home the donor '98 Club Car golf cart today !) [;)[;)

And I thought I was bad! You just cleaned and modified the front axle, same to the rear, made a 4 link set up AND built the rear frame kick ups. All for a project you don't yet have or even know what brand / year body it will be. All based on a pair of head lights you bought. I commend you sir! Bravo! [cl[P
