For the first time in god knows how many years the cowl and tub are one again. Now the hard part begains, all the tube work around the doors and the back of the tub.

Taking a break from the heat

Man, that is coming along fabulously! Are you making a series of cuts in the square tubing to create the curves?

Thank' Bob.

I would like to say that I have a hi-tec bender or a torch, but no such luck. For long sweeping curves I'm using my Bend-Ford 5000 :D 3" 1/4" wall round tube mounted to a truck rim. For the tight stuff I'm having to make a series of cuts form to the shape and weld (tons of welding and grinding). The only real down fall is the metal get thick in the corner and if I need to make any adjustment due to warp, it's cut and redue. I have tried clamping and a 4' cheater but it just bend every thing but where all the welding is.

its a good feeling when the wood is gone and it back in one piece!

Its looking real nice keep at it

Thank's CORPO, Now I hear "awesome car" before it was "you paid for that junk:eek:"

Doing a heck of a nice job!!! I'm jealous.

Thank's Neverdone, Don't be jealous, I have to start with stuff that no one in their right mind would touch.

I think this is the best one yet you've built!

Thank's Dirtyrat, I'm starting to get the hang of car building. Each one gets a little better.

I lost almost 2 day's of work thanks to a bottle of bad mig gas. I thought something like that never happened. Almost have a floor, column is just in to find the center so I don't but a bar in the wrong place. 2 more days and I should be ready to pull a complete "one" peice tub off and weld all the under side. As soon as the tub comes off I can cut the inner wheel tubs out, and make them strait front to back. learned my lesson on the first tub.

You're build makes me think of this quote - "If it was easy, the Girl Scouts would be doing it for you." - Junker39's Grandpa :D

Sam the Girl Scouts around here are down rigth smart, They con me out of $90.00 during cookie sales

The Nash learned a new trick, roll over and play dead. The wheel well has a 4" taper to the back that makes for a real problem so got into that today.

That looks like a pretty cool idea there, looks from the pics that you took the skin, separated it and you are moving it out to remove the taper, and filling in the wheel well, and possibly tail section?
