Tuesday ma & I were babysitting two of the grandkids. I was just going to get them ready to get a happy meal. I felt sorta funny. Went into my cave and Googled "Sroke Sympyoms." Face drooping. I've got that. weakness on one side. Check. We loaded the kids into thier car seats and made a beeline for the hospital. Into Emergency I went. Wihin minutes I was hooked up, wired, probed, IV, etc. Then I had a CAT scan and an MRI. Doc said it was a stroke,.A quick ambulance ride to downtown St. Paul brought me to Regions Hospital, which has one of the best sroke units around. Tuesday night I was pretty much inert. Then half way through the night I began speaking more clearly. Wednesday I got my speech back and my left hand started working pretty well. The Docs and nurses were excxellent. I came home this afternoon none the worse for wear. Got some new predcriptions and a diet plan. Follow up appointments. It sucks geting old. But, thankfully I am still alive and kicking.

Glad you pulled through it, Bob. There are still wheelies to be pulled. :D

When ever I think about getting old, I consider the alternative, and then I am quite happy to get another day/week/month.... decade older.

Hang in there!

So glad to hear you are doing ok Bob, take care and follow
you're instructions.....ok I'm selfish I want to see you're
projects completed......really, glad you're ok!!!!!![cl[cl[cl

Really glad everything worked out for you Bob and you were smart enough
not to ignore it thinking "it will pass". My dad made that mistake and it was
all down hill from that day forward.

Count your blessings and take care of yourself brother.

Good on you Bob. Been there done that with my Heart. And what did I do. Bought another project. Buy the way Skip, I love the 39 ford truck grille. I have a little 39 truck.

Frightening post... but I'm pleased to know you're OK.

I'm also pleased to know you through this forum. (It wouldn't be the same without you.) I look forward to your recovery, good health and of course, your builds. You're an inspiration and in my mind, the very definition of "hotrodding" as it was meant to be.

Glad you took care if yourself and I'm sure the grand kids are too! To many if us ignore things like that and pay for it in the end!

My sentiments exactly! ^^^

Glad you are making a good recovery Bob. My ex-brother in-law that I started my Willys project with had one a few months ago at age 54. It was a pretty nasty one and he didn't go to the hospital until the next day but he has made a pretty miraculous recovery and is back to work now.

Hang in there friend.

Stop it, Dr. C. you know how emotional people get after these things.I truly appreciate all of your responses.

Great to hear that you are on the mend Bob.[cl
You did the right things in not waiting to get help and now you need to continue to do them. Take a hard look at your diet. Pick one that will help you and above all stick to it. I'm not going to preach because that annoys me when people do it to me but just take a look at your wife and those grandchildren when you need a little push to keep you on the right track......:)
Keep on keeping on.

WOW!! That was a close one, I don't know you personally but you seem to be a real stand up guy and a great family man so please take care of yourself. There are many people who respect you and admire you for your dedication to this hobby and your out look on life.
