    1929 Essex/Truck

Truck is looking great Glen! I wish I could fit in one of these small'ish truck cabs! +2 on adding an Essex logo to replace the Ford logo on the tailgate and taking a couple inches out of the width. Glad to see you here. Subscribed for the ride.

Buying a welder on a budget

I only use shielding gas, unless I have to take the welder away from the shop and weld outside. I have only used this welder once off the bottle with flux core (had to repair my outdoor wood boiler). My first welder was a Hobart Handler 135, I used that one flux only for the first 3 years I had...

Buying a welder on a budget

Primarily to shield the weld puddle from regular air (nitrogen, oxygen, etc) making for a cleaner little to no spatter weld. Edit - After posting I went through a few sites and found this one to be a good summary. Gas Basics

Buying a welder on a budget

It took me quite a while to decide which welder to buy about this time 4 years ago. I finally went with the Miller 211. Deciding factors for me at the time, consumables interchange with Hobart and can be purchased 8 miles from my house at Tractor Supply, and it was dual voltage. I rarely run...

That is by far and away my second favorite Chevelle year, but a very close second to the '67. The just look sinister in black too. Nice car!

My 74 Vega... No rat project for me yet...

HAHAHA, I have thought about using the quarters as truck bed sides! Hard to visualize how exactly, but the thought popped into my mind a couple weeks ago. Once my other car is on the road I might just play with them a bit to see what it would look like. If, I can stand having it sit here long...

My 74 Vega... No rat project for me yet...

Exactly, I agonized over it, but in the end I was done and had to clear the shop for my new project. On the plus side I have distributed a lot of good hard to find parts back into the Vega world. These things have a way of working themselves out.

My 74 Vega... No rat project for me yet...

Well..... I found a direction for it I have a new direction for the Vega... After mulling it over for several months I decided to kill the Vega project. I have sold off the majority of the parts that Vega guys have a hard time finding in nice shape, and have a few more to go. The crux of the...

    Removable hard top

Awesome Job! I vote yes for the ribs. I think once you have the sides rounded off, and complete it will look much better to you. I think it looks very good as is.

    '46 Chevy Skoolie Project

I love buses, thanks for sharing your project. If there is an old bus done up at a car show, I am instantly drawn to it. Making one into a camping rig makes it even better. Keep at it!

It just hopped on the trailer...

I like them a lot. I was building one until I recently decided it would take way too long and way too many dollars to save it. I am now in the process of selling off all the parts for it and scrapping the shell. I am just going to keep looking for a solid example to start out with. Do one of...
