As best I can figure it out. Rat Rods are to Hot Rods kinda of like the Grunge fade from some years back. It allows the ugly to be cool.

If definitions mean anything. Have you tried Goggling "Rat Rod"? It seems like a fair definition to me. What's really fun is building something that don't fit any definition. You know, they just stand there scratching their heads with their mouths hanging open.

This is a truck I started last fall. It will have a GM 6.2 diesel, hence the name. With 2.73 gears out back it should get awsome fuel mileage.
