    The Roofus Special

Flipper – Sorry, I didn't mean to be disrespectful or to criticize, I think this is a very cool project and your work is very good. I was just concerned about potential safety and handling issues that may arise. Don’t forget to consider the breaking torque applied to the control arms when...

    The Roofus Special

Yes, a camber increase (positive) on the inside tire and a camber decrease (negative) on the outside when turning is desirable. This is generally controlled with the caster angle during a turn. What I'm seeing is a camber decrease (negative) during spring compression with the wheels straight...

    The Roofus Special

If you make the inside (frame) pivot point lower than the outside (spindle) pivot point, when the suspension compresses the camber will go way negative. You have a photo somewhere that shows this effect. I wouldn't do that if it was me. I would try to keep the wheels more straight up and down...

    Futureliner up close and personal

Thanks for the pictures, yes I would like to see your Studebaker stuff too. Dave. PS: What is that Futurama Bus for? Where does Bender sit?

    61 stude on CL...

I can't see very well but it looks to me like they have welded the body to the frame. And, the fins have had the seams filled over. This means that the quarters can't be R&R'd without breaking up those fiberglas fins because the bolts are under them. It might make a good parts car or a title...

    Location Poll

How's it going? I'm from Clifton, Arizona a small mining camp up in the mountains of the eastern part of the state. I don't personally have a rat right now, but the guy up the street does. He had it custom made, even the rust was applied by a trained professional! When I was a kid just about...

    61 stude on CL...

To me, that looks like a heck of a waste of a good Hawk. If he still has the Studebaker frame and running gear, and the floor pans, and, and... I would leave all the Chevy stuff there as it isn't worth hauling home. A nice 289 and a blower, yes! Dave.

just curious 1930 radius rod question

I'm not a degree toting expert in the field of metalurgy, so I would suggest a trip to a lab for some testing. This would probably yield the results you are looking for. BTW, sounds like you're looking for a reason why something happened, or perhaps who to blame. Dave.

Some updates for my 51 Mercury

Looks like your buddy knows what he's doing, and can weld too! Wow, that's going to be a fine old ride when she's back together. Dave.

    She's not a RAT

Is that the only photo you have or could you please post some others? Thanks, Dave.

    The Roofus Special

I wouldn't put the leaves back yet, just don't lose them. Is the spring going to be pushed up from the lower control arm or pulled up from the upper control arm? Dave.
